contents: Gold-tooled olive-green morocco bookbinding. The unknown bookbinder of this binding must have worked in The Hague in the 1640s and 1650s and was probably the man who introduced tooling with small curly tools into Holland (`petits fers' , a technique that had been in vogue in France since the beginning of the century).
