contents: In the seventeenth century inventories of collections appeared regularly (libraries, paintings, plant collections, collections of curiosities, etc.), both for commercial purposes as well as for the users. This catalogue of the Leiden anatomy chamber was for sale in different languages to visitors and was regularly reprinted. The standard format for this type of catalogue was quarto or octavo.
