contents: Before someone was accepted into a guild he had to be a citizen of that town, he had to have trained with a recognised master for a number of years and, in most cases, he had to produced his masterpiece. Entry into the guilds also involved a lot of expenses. Thereafter, however, the master could pursue his trade under the protection of the guild and could himself take on apprentices. From 1762 to 1784 Tieboel and Yntema had a printer's/publisher's together in the Kalverstraat in Amsterdam at the address with the shop sign `over de jonge graaf van Holland' (across from the young count of Holland).
