One of many engravings from children's periodical "Prenten-magazijn voor de jeugd", compiled by teacher Van Sandwijk en published by Schuitemaker between 1842 and 1852. "Prenten-magazijn" had a wide circulation, probably appeared quarterly, en each issue counted six sections. This image was part of the section on Dutch inventions and discoveries.
