(graveur/engraver) year: [1882] type: prent detail: nee dimensions: 14 x 20 cm. related terms: boekhandels reclame period: 19e eeuw classification: G: Boekhandel en uitgeverij contents: This print was made on the occasion of the takeover of the Scheltema and Holkema bookshop in January 1882 by K. Groesbeek. In 1853 Jacobus H. Scheltema started a bookshop in Amsterdam which he made over in 1868 to Tjomme van Holkema. Van Holkema continued this company under the name Scheltema and Holkema. However, because Holkema preferred to be a publisher, he transferred the company once again for f.14,500.- to his chief clerk, K. Groesbeek, who continued the company under the old, familiar name. The print shows cherubs busy sorting out the bookshop. origineel: ©description: Den Haag Koninklijke Bibliotheek ©reproduction: Amsterdam Bibliotheek KVB Universiteitsbibliotheek UVA |
