contents: On the left is a type case from which a typesetter takes type which he slides as words into a composing stick. On the right he has moved the lines formed in the composing stick onto a galley where the lines are formed into pages. When the galley is full it is bound up with cords so that no type can fall out while the galley is being handled. Any wrong type can then be taken out with a sort of awl.
