contents: Shop window with the letters 'WEEK OF THE BOOK' covering almost the whole window. The first national 'Book Day' was on 15 November 1930. Following its great success the idea arose of organising a whole week around the book. The first Week of the book was in 1932 with shop window competitions, readings and a gift. The date of the photograph is not known but very probably this shop window of the Haarlemsche Boekhuis dates from 1932.
