contents: At the beginning of the 20th century, hundreds of Roman Catholic popular libraries existed in the Netherlands which were associated with a parish church or which were members of the national organisation of the Saint Vincentius libraries. Most of these changed in the fifties or were taken over by R.C. public reading rooms and libraries which functioned alongside the general public libraries.
