contents: The needlework section of Penélopé, the first women's magazine in Dutch, had elaborate instructions for fob chains, bell pulls, all kinds of baskets, mementos decorated with the hair of the deceased, cardboard boxes, etc., accompanied with clear, often fold-out engravings. The illustrations were made by Cornelis Borsteegh (1773-1834) and engraved in steel by A. Lutz, from the second volume by Dirk Sluyter (1790-1852). These engravings were particularly attractive because they were coloured by hand with extreme care and taste.
