contents: Photo-chemigraphy from a wood engraving from a four-part German de luxe edition: the "Nordlandfahrten" published in 1881-1882 by F. Hirt & Sohn in Leipzig, and printed as an example in "Proeven van reproductiën in zink voor de boekdrukpers". Roeloffzen & Hübner, established in 1867, were one of the first in the Netherlands to specialise in so-called 'chemigraphy': the manufacture of line blocks and half-tone screens for printing. The firm of Joh. Enschedé & Sons was probably the first in the Netherlands to make line blocks. Both printers of "Proeven" had very probably learned their trade at Enschedé.
