contents: In 1928 "Die neue Typographie" by Jan Tschichold appeared, the best-known and most influential manual for graphic design and the layout of the modern book of the 20th century. "Typografische vormgeving" is a translation of Tschichold's "Typographische Gestaltung" of 1935, a slightly less radical book but also of great importance for Dutch typography.
