contents: This picture shows a few important instruments necessary for bookbinding, including a mallet (fig. 1), knives, the sewing frame (fig. 4), glue-brush, and glue-pot, (figs. 6, 7), and a lying press (fig. 10). De Haas had the drawings made with a view to making these instruments himself, as they were not easily obtainable on the market.
