contents: The illustration from this booklet for children on national crafts shows a printing shop from around 1800. On the left is the compositor with his type case, in the middle the printer at a wooden printing press with two ink balls in his hands. On the right a man is putting a bottle of beer or wine to his mouth. There was a lot of alcohol consumption and also smoking among printers and compositors. The poem celebrates 'the finest invention of man's unlimited spirit': the art of printing books and its inventor Laurens Jansz. Coster. On the adjacent page a romantic story about how the discovery by Coster came about.
