contents: The first instalment (in Dutch and in French) of the "Flora Batava" , an illustrated survey of all indigenous plants and flowers of the Netherlands, appeared in 1800. It was to be issued - with interruptions - in 461 instalments with a total of 2240 plates. The last part appeared in 1934. For a luxury series in the field of flora and fauna and history there was a limited but financially strong public at the time of the Batavian Republic (and later).
