contents: The curiosities are summarised on the left including objects such as 'the pedantry of a schoolmaster', 'the whitened face of a coquette', 'the fine features of a Mennonite', and 'the conscience of a bookseller'. The book catalogue begins on the right including titles such as "The art of screaming without becoming hoarse [...]" and "Argument that the fattest bellies are the most suitable civil servants", broadsides with illustrations. 106 of these kinds of absurd titles were found in this satirical catalogue.

source: Catalogus van eene overtollige en schaarsgezochte verzameling rarieteiten en boeken, waar onder vele prullaria en narrige werken uitmunten : nagelaten door den heer J. Al te Geleerd, voornaam liefhebber te Narrenstein, dewelke verkocht zulllen worden op verleden Mars- en Merkurius-dag, den 120 en 121 van geefmaand, des vorigen jaars 5580, des nachts ten twee uren precies, ten huize van den boekverkooper Klaas Misdruk, wonende in de Gouden Torrenstraat te Narrenstein, bij wien, als mede bij den uitgever der Narrensteinsche Courant, deze catalogus à 3 st. te bekomen is. - [Amsterdam: H.
