contents: According to G.W. Ovink this is the first sound 20th -century Dutch book: 'Despite the endeavours for a clear block of text [.] the page is open, sunny, sparkling, thanks to the fine effects of the letter type (Nordish old style) and the soft colours of the initial on the toned, machine -smooth paper'. The typographical design is by S.H.de Roos; it brought him his appointment at the 'Lettergieterij Amsterdam' . For the Netherlands this meant the start of a new phase in the art of the book on Dutch soil.
