contents: Binding with cardboard boards, covered with paper on which a wood engraving has been printed. In addition to the usual sewn books for which the buyer could have a binding made in accordance with his own taste, from c. 1770 more and more books appeared that had already been bound by the publisher. The simplest of material was used for these kinds of cheap editions.
