contents: The Librije in the Great Church of Edam was used extensively by the pastors for preparing their sermons. The same pastors also made sure that the Librije's collection was expanded by leaving (some of) their books to the library. Many of the books have notes saying they were bequeathed to the Librije of Edam, as this picture shows: "dit boeck is besproocke van salijge pouwels pietersz tot die lijberij van Edam" (´this book was bequeathed to the Librije of Edam by the late Pouwel Pietersz').
