contents: Mackle, consisting of 17 strips which were use to strenghten the book block of a manuscript from the second half of the fifteenth century. The mackle is produced from a page of a 'Donatus', a small schoolbook written by Aelius Donatus. This is one of the first works printed in the Netherlands, belonging to the so-called prototypography.
