contents: The 19th century shows a rapid development of technical possibilities for printing and illustration. Print runs increased and books are illustrated more beautifully; in the second half of the century color lithography is introduced. Classic titles are adapted for a young audience, and nursery rhymes and picture books find their way to the children's rooms. This colored lithograph is from a late 19th-century text-free picture book. It consists of nine images of children re-enacting grownup jobs. Publisher and illustrator are unknown.
