Illustrations that were originally drawn or painted are replaced by (coloured) woodcuts. Reference marks are no longer drawn into the text in red or blue, but make way for printed section marks or for white, as is done here. In the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, numerous illustrated editions of the life of Christ appeared. The parable of the Good Samaritan is shown on the coloured woodcut. origineel: source: Ludolphus de Saxonia. - Leven Ons Heren. - Zwolle: P. van Os, 1499 available in: Koninklijke Bibliotheek, Den Haag 171 E 34 ©description: Den Haag Koninklijke Bibliotheek ©reproduction: Den Haag Koninklijke Bibliotheek |
