intaglio process whereby a photochemically etched copper cylinder is used as a forme. A very fine screen is put on the cylinder to ensure that the ink in the dotted relief, resulting from the etching process, is retained and redelivered better. Thismethod is used particularly for very large print runs in four-colour printing.
