contents: The bust of Laurens Jansz Coster on a plinth, embraced by Minerva while Fame puts a laurel wreath on his head. To the left in the background two printers operate a wooden printing press, while a third one holds the ink balls in his hands. Left in front is a cushion with the city arms of Haarlem. In the medallions are portraits and names of , among others, William Caxton and Aldus Manutius, important printers, but not, like Coster, the inventors of the art of printing.
