contents: Gold-tooled green morocco binding. Both boards are tooled with a framework consisting of asymmetrical patterns of tendrils with fruit, birds and butterflies. The centre compartment is empty. The binding is one of the finest examples of the asymmetrical Louis XV style in the Dutch art of binding.
