Tetterode, founded in Rotterdam by Nicolaas Tetterode, in 1851, became, in the course of the 20th century, one of the largest foundries in the world. Various branches of the graphic industry had been housed in this complex. The firm also traded in materials and equipment such as printing presses, machines for the paper industry and the graphic industry, and bookbinding equipment.
