contents: The first issue of "Hollandsch penning-magazijn voor de jeugd", `founded to arouse both the lust for reading as well as for further research'. The illustration, rendered in chalk lithography, shows a printing office from the 1830s. Two printers are engaged at an iron Stanhope-press in putting paper at the folded-back tympan with frisket, and in inking the forme with an ink roll. At the far left a printer is imposing formes and to the right two figures are composing. Above printed sheets are hanging to dry.
