Although the current printers and publishers with the name Thieme no longer have anything to do with one another, they are, however, the descendents of a German ancestor, H.C.A. Thieme, who came to Zutphen on foot in 1770 from Wesel. There he was employed by a printer/bookseller, married his daughter and they had fourteen children.
